As part of the roadshow to promote the Calligraphy Charity Sale, nine Parkson outlets in Klang Valley namely Pavilion KL, Suria KLCC, KL Festival City Mall, The Mall, OUG Shopping Centre, Selayang Mall, Subang Parade, Sunway Pyramid and 1 Utama Shopping Centre, had staged a calligraphy sale with Chinese orchestra performances by students from the four schools in early 2012. Calligraphy pieces by Lion-Parkson Foundation Chairman, Puan Sri Chelsia Cheng and her classmates from Xian’s Calligraphy Center, and students from the 4 schools were on sale at these Parkson stores and at the Exhibition cum Charity Sale held in Tsun Jin High School.

The Lion-Parkson Foundation has pledged to raise RM200,000 per year from the Calligraphy Sale to help the needy students in the 4 schools for a period of 4 years. For this year 2012, we have successfully raised RM243,530.80 from the Charity Sale for the students selected by the four schools to receive the financial assistance to help pay for their education fees.

Based on the claims submitted by the schools on behalf of the students, our Foundation is disbursing a sum of RM183,385 to 67 students from the 4 schools. A mock-cheque for this amount was presented by Puan Sri Chelsia Cheng, Foundation Chairman to the students present at the award ceremony.

An incentive award was given to the school which achieved the highest sales from their calligraphy pieces in Parkson stores.
