I began my career with Amsteel Mills way back in January 1988 as an Engineering Executive with the Electrical Section of Steel Melting Plant responsible for High Voltage Networks & Overhead Cranes. Currently, I am a registered Chartered Engineer heading  the Central Engineering Department, with 24 years of invaluable exposure in Electrical/Electronics, Mechanical, Civil and Metallurgical Engineering and also areas of Environmental, Safety and Health Practises that are vital in any manufacturing environment.

Besides holding the “Visiting Expert” role that involves knowledge sharing amongst other steel companies in the Lion Group, I represent Amsteel Mills Sdn Bhd in the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers as Vice Chairman of the Energy Management Committee, in the Sub-Technical Working Committee at Standards Malaysia and also in the Energy Commission Committee that is concerned with Energy and Power Quality developments.

Throughout my career in Amsteel, I have had the opportunity to travel widely to countries like Australia, China, Europe, Japan, Thailand and the United States to learn more about steel manufacturing/engineering. Clearly, my work experience in the Lion Group is like being enrolled in a long-term Engineering Institution that I could never get elsewhere.
